FULL-BODY COLD THERAPY

Cold therapy, or healing by the means of cold temperature is a modern rehabilitation-medicinal method, which can be used in the cases of a whole list of conditions. The so-called “full-body cold therapy” method was first applied by Toshima Yamauchi, a Japanese professor in the 70s of the 20th century. Subsequently to this the method gradually spread all around the world, of course the Czech Republic doesn’t constitute an exception either.
Cold chambers and cold saunas are ideal for spas, rehabilitation centers and for independent cold therapy centers, fitness/wellness centers.

In the process of cold therapy the human body is exposed to extremely low temperatures, between -110 °C and -160 °C, for about 3 minutes. The objective of this specific medicinal treatment is to elicit the physiological reaction to the effect of extreme cold
The severe freezing absolutely doesn’t cause harm to the patient, since the cold chamber contains dry air deprived of its moisture content. Therefore the body’s internal temperature isn’t reduced, even when the surface temperature of the body drops to +2°C.

Cold therapy has a beneficial effect on the spirit. Full-body cold therapy exerts a positive effect not only on physical but also on mental health. Specifically, anxiety and irritability are significantly reduced, the ability to make decisions, motion and visual coordination improve, emotional-control, spatial orientation and thought precision are also enhanced

The effects of full-body cold therapy
In the process of full-body cold therapy the extraordinarily cold temperature exerts an effect on the cold receptors of the skin, which send a signal to the brain. Based on the body’s surface “information” the brain commences the body’s self-healing processes. As a result of this, the vessels of the blood and lymphatic systems dilate in a very short time, metabolism, hormonal functions as well as the flushing of harmful substances out of the body accelerate.
As an effect of freezing, enzyme and hormone production considerably increases, enhancing physical and mental stamina (for example endorphins, dopamine, serotonin – satisfaction and happiness hormones). Full-body cold therapy promotes the body’s anti-inflammatory and healing processes. Furthermore, the energy reserves of fat tissue are released, the activity of organs is increased, thereby the flushing of roughage out of the body is multiplied.

Cold sauna

We offer you an unparalleled cold sauna, which makes full-body cold therapy treatment possible. The cold sauna is a cylindrical cabin with an aesthetic appearance, in which the low temperature is electronically, accurately adjusted and is kept at a steady level (to -150°C).
The cooling substance is liquid nitrogen. The height of the cabin’s floor can be electronically adjusted, therefore the head of the user is always above the cabin and he breathes the warm air of the room. The installation of our cold sauna is ideal in hotels, fitness/wellness centers, spas, healthcare institutions, rehabilitation or beauty centers. Cold saunas can be found across Europe, in Germany, Poland, France, the Czech Republic, Ireland, England, Finland, Lithuania, Spain, Slovakia and Hungary.

APPLICATION

Full-body cold therapy is one of the very effective medical-rehabilitation and regeneration methods of the human body performed by the application of cold temperature. Full-body cold therapy consists of staying in very low temperature (between -100°C and -160°C) for a short time (2 to 3 minutes) and subsequent moderate aerobic activity. The effect of the low temperature on the skin’s cold receptors, then the warming up of the entire body, results in intensive blood supply to the skin, the tissue under the skin and the muscle system.

Concurrently with this several substances are created which have a beneficial impact on the body, and are primarily effective against inflammation and pain. In the interest of achieving the significant effects of cold therapy a cold chamber regimen consisting of at least 12 to 15 sessions is necessary.

Full-body cold therapy is particularly effective:

  • For people actively participating in sports, in the case of the body’s adjustment to increased exertion, as well as for the enhancement of physical stamina and endurance.
  • For people who suffer from civilization associated illnesses:
      • Painful spine syndromes
      • Chronic fatigue syndrome
      • Weakened immune system
      • Depression
      • Orange skin
      • Obesity
      • Libido enhancement
  • In the case of illnesses, such as
      • In the interest of better scar healing after plastic surgery procedures
      • Acute and chronic inflammatory joint and spine disorders
      • Inflammatory rheumatic disorders of soft tissue and the skin
      • Post-surgery rehabilitation of the spine and large joints
      • Post-traumatic and post-surgery bruises and swellings
      • Autoimmune disorders and disorders of the immune system
      • Chronic illnesses of respiratory organs
      • Painful muscles contractions
      • Psoriasis with joint and skin symptoms
      • Degenerative joint disorders
      • Difficulties related to menopause
      • Multiple sclerosis
      • Neurodermatitis
      • Osteoporosis
      • Fibromyalgia
      • Hay-fever
      • Eczema
      • Migraine
      • Asthma
      • Arthritis

ITS ADVANTAGES

Our cold chamber provides the following advantages:

  • Low purchase costs
  • Low operational and maintenance costs
  • Low liquid gas consumption
  • Low installation requirements
  • Simple operation
  • Visual and audio contact with the users in the course of the cold therapy
  • Simple adjustment of the specific parameters of cold therapy for various user groups
  • The users’ safety, the cold chamber is a 0401 certified medical device (EC No1451/M/0011/05 )

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

  • For the installation of the cold sauna a room with at least 10 to 15 m2 of floor space and 260 cm internal height is necessary.
  • The formation of 2 openings (with the diameter of 125 mm) is necessary in the wall behind the technological portion of the cold chamber for the ventilation pipes, and 1 opening (with the diameter of 120 mm) for the input of liquid gas.
  • The room should be equipped with mechanical ventilation, the capacity of which ensures the replacement of the room’s volume 6 times per day.
  • Placing the cold chamber in a high vapor content environment is not recommended, such as near a swimming pool or a bubble bath.

THE LIQUID AIR/NITROGEN CONTAINER

Liquid air is necessary for the operation of the cold chamber, as a cooling substance. We recommend the installation of a PERMACYL (2000 l) small stationary liquid nitrogen tank near the location of use. The application of 180 to 600 liter mobile tanks (MTK,POS) is also possible.
The container should be installed outside of the building. The installation of the container and the pipe conduit, the container’s lease and the delivery of liquid nitrogen constitute the subject of a separate agreement with the manufacturer of industrial gases.
